This video demonstrates the Breville 800ESXL. This unit is a decent low-range espresso machine, but some major drawbacks are the thermoblock heater and the pressurized portafilter baskets. The quality of the shot pulled here is probably not as good as some I have pulled with the machine. To pull the best shots possible for the 800ESXL: • Use fresh beans. • Get a good grinder. I have a mid-grade Rancilio Rocky grinder. • Get a non pressurized basket. I am using a Krups basket that fits this portafilter. • Get the machine, portafilter and glasses as warm as possible prior to extraction. • Use fresh beans.
